Leading Asia-Pacific logistics specialist LOGOS has today announced that Chrisco, one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest online retailers has committed to a 21,189 sqm temperature-controlled food grade facility at its Berrinba Logistics Hub.

For over 40 years Chrisco has been creating magical memories each Christmas for hundreds of thousands of families in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. The new facility at Berrinba will become the national packing and distribution facility for Chrisco, consolidating the Lytton, Brisbane and the Keysborough, Melbourne facilities. This new facility will be part ambient, part temperature controlled, consisting of different temperature zones ranging from minus 20 degrees through to 5 degrees.

The new facility is located at LOGOS’ new Berrinba Logistics Estate, with a total of 9.9 hectares located in a prime location in the established industrial precinct. The site takes advantage of key motorway networks, providing access to South East Queensland’s key metropolitan areas. Transurban Queensland have recently completed a $512 million Logan Enhancement Project, which have significantly improved the Wembley Road and Logan Motorway interchanges, which are adjacent to LOGOS’ holdings at Berrinba.
Acquired by LOGOS through the LOOGS Australian Logistics Venture (LALV) in 2017, Berrinba Logistics Estate plays a key role in the venture strategy of developing logistics facilities across the key eastern seaboard markets in Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Chrisco will occupy a 21,189sqm facility being of 10,082sqm of ambient warehouse, 7,816sqm of temperature controlled warehouse, 647sqm main office and 243sqm of dock offices, targeting a minimum 5 Star Green Star rating. Practical completion for Chrisco’s new facility is scheduled for completion June 2023.
LOGOS Head of Australia & New Zealand, Darren Searle said: “We are excited to be developing a new facility in Brisbane for Chrisco at Berrinba Logistics Hub. We have a strong track record of developing world-class distribution and cold storage facilities in Australia, New Zealand and across Asia and we look forward to delivering an industry-leading solution for Chrisco’s national packing and distribution requirements.

“Berrinba Logistics Estate is one of South East Queensland’s premier logistics locations, providing occupiers with a prime motorway location which seamlessly links to the region’s most critical freight corridors and infrastructure nodes. We’re pleased to announce that with this commitment from Chrisco, 70% of the estate developable area has now been secured,” Mr Searle added.
Peter Turnbull State Director, Industrial & Logistics CBRE said: “We undertook an extensive search for a suitable site that met Chrisco’s requirements. Chrisco chose to partner with LOGOS due to the offering they provided and the demonstrated capability they have in delivering cold storage and food grade facilities.

Chrisco Managing Director, Geoff Spong said: “We’re pleased to be partnering with LOGOS because of their experience and track record in delivering logistics facilities on time. Having our Australian business housed within a single facility will allow further efficiencies to be driven through the business and support Chrisco for its next phase of growth”.

The remainder of the Estate is being speculatively developed with a 14,674 sqm facility that can accommodate users from 7,000 sqm and is expected to be delivered by mid 2023.
