LOGOS has developed two state of the art facilities for Fisher & Paykel and Toll Transport at its Hazelmere Logistics Estate in Perth, Western Australia.

The 21 hectare Estate, which will offer up to 110,000sqm of gross lettable area on completion, is located on Talbot Road, Hazelmere with exposure to key transport infrastructure including the Roe Highway.

Toll has committed to a five year lease term for its new purpose built circa 22,000sqm warehouse and office facility, which includes a 1,300sqm mezzanine and an automated conveyor system.

The Fisher & Paykel circa 10,500sqm warehouse and office facility, also on an initial five year lease term, accommodates the storage, distribution and returns/repairs of whitegoods to service the broader Perth market.

Darren Searle, Head of Australia and New Zealand, said: “Hazelmere Logistics Estate is a core property for the Group that delivers strategic employment and logistics land in accordance with the Western Australian Government’s framework for growth, and supports the Westport Taskforce’s Port and Environs Strategy in the delivery of an efficient supply chain for the state.

“The $165 million industrial estate will strengthen the regions well-established freight and logistics focus and will bring many jobs to the area both through the construction of the Estate and the facilities operations,” he said.

The new Toll facility marks the fifth property LOGOS has developed for the global logistics provider and its first in Western Australia.

Mr Searle added: “We are pleased to have extended our relationship with Toll into Western Australia and to have established a new partnership with Fisher & Paykel at Hazelmere. We look forward to working with them and continuing our strong relationship with the Western Australia Government, Main Roads WA and the City of Swan, as we deliver 110,000sqm of prime logistic space at this Estate and capitalise on the site’s strategic and locational advantages for freight forwarding and distribution operations”.

Ben Normoyle, Chief Operating Officer Australia, Fisher & Paykel said: “Our new facility in Hazelmere is an important investment that will support our growth in Western Australia and help us to drive efficiencies along our national distribution network. The transformation of our national network is creating immense operational savings and efficiencies that allows us to continue to increase investment in new product development and in-store experience”.

The Fisher & Paykel lease was negotiated by TM Insight who have also developed and implemented a national distribution centre network strategy for the retailer.

Toll and Fisher & Paykel join McPhee Transport on the Estate, with the site almost 50% committed. LOGOS is currently in discussions with a number of tenants for the remaining 10.9 hectares of space on the site.

Hazelmere Logistics Estate is owned by LOGOS Australia Logistics Venture, a partnership established in late 2014 between LOGOS and its capital partners to acquire and develop prime, logistics estates across Australia. LOGOS’ Australian and New Zealand portfolio includes assets and developments across New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland and Auckland, with its development pipeline standing at over A$2 billion.
